How I Got Into Northwestern by Jay Towns w/ Ben Yost

Jay Towns had a 4.06 Weighted and 3.76 Unweighted + 30 ACT, which are lower scores for Northwestern Admissions. Did not receive any AP credit. 

Student body president and involved with many extracurriculars!

Ben, his room mate, took hardest classes he could, Sr. Year had a full AP courseload and all A’s. 3.97 Unweighted and 4.4 Weighted GPA + a 34 ACT.

While students can look to transfer the next year, this route is just as challenging, if not more, than applying during the regular admissions cycle.

What could be an application error?

  • Your SAT score report was submitted late
  • Your application was missing a required piece of information
  • Your submitted transcript contained an error.

2) You have a SIGNIFICANT update!

What could be a significant update?

  • New, markedly improved test scores
  • A markedly improved transcript
  • An award, honor, scholarship
  • A significant promotion at a job or within an organization
